Anxiety, Stress, Depression ?! Say No More . . .

Updated: Apr 5, 2021

Staying in your little apartment, glazing at the window for countless hours wondering when is it all going to end. . . When can I actually go out, hang out with my friends, get to know new people, go on sushi dates, get drunk and dance the night out. . . One might ask, when is it all going to be normal again? These are the thoughts that might pass your head almost every day.

All that was normal is now fantasy and on top of that, dealing with university in a virtual mood is out of the ordinary. Trying to get a response will take about 5 to 7 business days and that is frustrating. Staring at the screen is also daunting. Imagine having 6 hours of zoom per day and when it's all over you still have to stare at your screen to finish up your projects. I get it, Zoom fatigue is a big deal.

It is all so overwhelming. On the side, there is probably a part-time job that keeps the other half of your time engaged. And the stress of working in Covid-19 situation is not the best experience that you might get. Mask on Mask off all day long, and oh I can’t breathe.

And if you are not working, probably you are passing your chill hours by Netflixing but you got no chill. Staring at the screen, without even realizing the next episode is on and like that you have binge-watched the whole season in one day. Thank god that there are 6 more seasons out there.

I mean after all, how can one expect to be okay all the time. There is just so much going on and everything is upside down. You might blame yourself for not wanting to get out of bed, or Netflixing your entire day but let me tell you something, it’s not your fault. It’s okay to feel overwhelmed by it all. Just know that you are not alone, and there is help out there for you.

Together we can pass these hard times and I know you have probably read a thousand blogs on how as a community we can deal with this issue, but this time you are on the right track. The best way to overcome these hard times is together and what else could it be better than passing it with people who are just like you.

You wanna know how I get over my issues these days. Well, let me tell you. GIRL, get on YouTube, look for a new recipe and treat yourself to something new, maybe Chinese, maybe Mexican, you decide. Pass by the restaurant that you always wanted to go to and never did and order something for takeaway. Order something online and surprise yourself with comfy jogging. Hit the bicycle road next to your house and do some exercise. Maybe even do some activity in plan air and enjoy the fresh weather.

Treat yourself right and show yourself some love. We are not robots to stare at the screens for hours and allowing them to control us. Live life because tomorrow might never come. And always remember, we are all in the same ship, all in this together.
